Local Dental Office Ends The Insurance Guessing Game For $249 A Year
Island Dental PA has opened enrollment in a direct membership plan that makes cleanings, checkups, whitening, X rays and 3D scans free at the visit. No insurance card required, no claim forms, no annual maximum.
For years the same conversation has played out in dental offices across South Florida. A patient sits down, asks what today will cost, and nobody can answer until the paperwork clears. Island Dental PA has decided to stop having that conversation.
The practice has opened enrollment in a direct membership plan priced at $249 a year, or $25 a month. Members pay nothing at the visit for preventive AIRFLOW cleanings, checkups and exams, digital X rays and 3D scans, professional take home whitening, oral cancer screening and gum health monitoring.
There is no insurance company involved, which is exactly the point. No claim forms. No deductible. No preauthorization. No annual maximum that runs dry in October, and no waiting period before the benefits start working.
The reasoning is not complicated. Most serious dental problems are quiet at the start. Gum inflammation does not hurt. Early decay does not hurt. By the time a tooth aches, the simple conservative fix has usually left the table and something larger has taken its place.
Cost is what keeps people away in the meantime. When every cleaning, every exam and every set of X rays arrives as a separate line item, patients quietly stretch six months into eighteen. The membership removes that hesitation by settling the whole preventive year in one payment.
Members receive cleanings using Swiss AIRFLOW technology rather than traditional metal instrument scaling. A controlled stream of warm water, air and fine cleansing powder lifts plaque biofilm and surface stain. It removes roughly two times the odor causing bacteria of a traditional cleaning and leaves most patients one to two shades brighter after a single visit.
It also works safely around braces, retainers, crowns, bridges and implants when clinically appropriate. Patients who dread the scraping tend to be the ones who come back most often once they have tried it, which is the entire objective of a prevention plan.
The practice has been direct about the boundaries. Fillings, crowns, root canals, implants, oral surgery and periodontal therapy for active gum disease are quoted separately and are not part of the $249. Cavity reversal using remineralization therapy and orthodontist led clear aligners are offered to members at member pricing rather than free.
Everything else on the preventive list is included, and members are told the cost of anything further before treatment begins.
